Regardless whether Magneto can defeat Tony, I hate the direction Marvel is taking with him. He used to be a hard nut for the X-men team to crack.
I missed one of the episodes in the Wolverine and the X-men where he took down Kitty, Storm, Wolverine, Nightcrawler with ease.

If anyone wants a great read, that by coincidence has Magneto in it, Magneto: Testament is a phenomenal piece of work. It is more a holocaust story than super hero fiction but I can't say enough about it.

Well, I guess it's all based on what armor Tony gets to use. If you've read this comic, you know the answer. Iron Man wins.

As you can see...I was on Tet's side of this argument...
I have not read the issue...nor will I....but I AM curious about one thing. I understand that Tony wore an armor that Magneto could not manipulate...but was there not barrel of whisker nearby with the metal straps around it that he could have used to douse Iron Man with????

Tet didn't just frame it; he framed it in Titanium, with Fire-truck Red and Rapper-Tooth Gold inlays.

So, now that they had Iron Man beat Magneto, Thing beat Namor, and Rulk beat Colossus, is there really any need for any other fights? The X-Men just had their 3 biggest guns lose. what's the point? Talk about skewing the odds heavily in the Avengers favor. Next they have Captain America vs. Gambit. There's a no brainer. Marvel won't let Captain America lose to Galactus. Gambit may as well go back to the school and save himself some time and embarrassment.
