The Mandalorian and Grogu by Sideshow Collectibles

This arrived today
Some out of the box shots..
The piece looks great!

When it comes to Star Wars, i have only ever really been a fan of A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back.
When the TV serieces The Madalorian aired, it was the next best thing since The Empire Strikes Back

While i own a couple of 1/6th Star Wars figure, i never intended to pick at anything 1/4 scale when it came to Star Wars
I wanted a Grogu in the collection, and i formed a small plan that would see me pre_order
The Mandalorian who ships with Grogu, and pre_order the Ahsoka Tano PF

The Madalorian, the base is what it is, a section of landscape that suits the character. These are my favourite types of bases,
not too crazy, not too bland, just flooring/ground that does the job, and does not detract from the statue.
..and no circular round base below the base. Which is how i like bases to be.

Grogu looks great. I do find this green a little on the dark-side. While his floating cradle looks great,
it does appear to be made from plastic. Probably to reduce weight. Plastic is probably stronger than thin polystone.

The Mandalorian himself looks great. The paint app works very well. His armor does appear to be made from plastic.

I'll stop there. I cannot wait for Ahsoka Tano to ship, to pair with The Mandalorian

Great statue.
In the first photo you might think he's on the move and really walking over the base.

The piece does have a sense of movement, swagger.
Grogu has a sense of life also, in the way he appears to be looking ahead to the left of Mandalorian

It is an all round good piece.
Also, the shipping box is not so large.

Funny enough, i was getting vibes of a type of home made cookie, oddly shaped, oversized
The base looks yummy!

The floating cradle design works a treat!
Also, Sideshow had to offer a sculpted cape, which i prefer over fabric capes.

Thanks..
I have admit, i think the Sideshow Mandalorian could use a little extra bulk (slightly less swagger) as the actor looked stocky in the TV series.
I think this is where the Iron Studios piece got it more right. Where the Sideshow piece wins, is the effect of Gorgu floating
