Trailer looks promising I just hope they don?t go too silly / comedic with gorr. That dude is all business, a deadly evil monster - I hope they treat the character with respect. I?ve seen the action figure, looks nothing like the comic version but I?m hopeful he?s still frightening on screen

I know I'm in the minority but I'm just not very interested in how thoroughly comedic they've made Thor. I'll catch it at some point... maybe once it's streaming.

My friend Luke, who has always loved Thor, says the same thing. He doesn't understand why they feel Thor should be funny. I don't get it either. I likes that he had banter, but it wasn't a joke. Thor 2 is still a god awful movie that I can't watch anymore. Twice was it. Ragnarok is rewatchable because Hela is great IMO.
But per usual, this will get my theatre money because IF my girl is hinted at or shown, I NEED see it.

Yeah, and dealing with Gorr it should have this ominous dread permeating those scenes.

With Bale playing him, something tells me this film isn’t going to be as funny as the trailer makes it to be. Bale doesn’t strike me as the type of actor that is going to sign on to a dark role to have it be comedic.

Yeah, I see Gorr being similar in tone to Thanos, a serious threat who is treated as such.

At least in the Thor movies, when it's time to battle, the movie-makers and Hemsworth know how to make Thor look intense and serious. It's not like they have Thor being a clown in battle.
I think the humor helps to round out his character. Otherwise, you'd just have a serious character in Thor all the time. Not very relatable in that case.

Same. Hate it.
I loved Thor 1 and 2, serious Thor but some funny moments but part 3 and fat Thor were cringe for me, not a fan.
