Agreed, but I think we can all agree that a TV series by the CW doesn't have the gravitas that a Summer blockbuster does, nor will it have as wide a reach or as large an appeal.

A Superman series that never uses the word Superman, never uses the costume or flight doesn't ring true for me as an effective portrayal of Superman.

That's why I believe this movie will not do as well as some might think. Audiences are going to get tired of seeing the same Superman movie over and over again. If they keep retelling the origin, there's not much new for anyone to get hyped about.

So there hasn't been a true Superman origin story told on film in 35 years now. There is a whole generation out there that hasn't been exposed to this character the way they have with the likes of say Batman, Spider-Man and to a lesser degree Iron Man. As a result this film is going to be relatively "new" to a large portion of it's audience.
I totally agree with Hellboy. If Sony could justify and have success with retelling the Spider-man origin after they did it in a blockbuster only 10 years earlier IMHO Supes is justified as the origin hasn't been retold on the big screen for 35+ years.

Funny that both Spider-Man and Superman look like basket balls. What's up with that?!

i know right?
i understand the whole texture thing giving the suit some flare. but man. they really over did it here with Supes costume. its all over everything. the one thing its not on is his damn cape. why stop at the boots and chest logo. might as well put it on the cape too. oh wait thats right it would have overboard if they did..
at least spidey's is more subtle.

Youre thinking of dodge/kick balls.

This UK TV spot is just to cool.

I'm convinced Snyder is so going to knock this out of the park. This IS the Superman we've all been waiting for. I haven't been this excited for a movie in quite some time.

Yeah, the trailers have been brilliant. This is easily my most anticipated film of the year.

Honestly, can this film possibly look any better? I certainly don't think so.

Check out this new trailer. I've waited my whole geek life for this. EPIC!!
