Ninjak as designed by Joe Quesada and X-O by Bart Sears.

If they were to happen I would be there.

Wow. Yeah, it does look a little pitiful in those pics. I sculpted the Solar piece. Man, it looks different than it did when I last had it (The face?). I dunno what happened. Paints?? Hmm....
First off- no offense to DF, but I don't care for those promo shots.
Everything is washed out and you can't really see detail. But also, they have him tilted too much, making him look more awkward. I wasn't too crazy about the choice of pose, but since pics can be a little misleading....Ahh.... Anyway.... In a nutshell, I would have liked to do it differently. A more interesting pose, etc..
Here are a couple of shots that show him better, including a study shot of the actual sculpt. Another thing I realized is that it's a little tricky to sculpt faces to look completely faithful to BWS without looking odd. His faces are sort of nondescript in a way....I love BWS' style, though. I like the piece, but it's one of those situations where I wish they had let me sculpt another pose (Like the case of the little Punisher jumping off roof I did for them- NOT the best choice of Mike Zeck Punisher art, I think) So here ya go, for what it's worth. As you can see, not quite so pitiful in these pics... Thanks- Rick Force~

Rick, thanks for posting those pics so others could see. I have held tight since I saw it announced, and I wasn't let down. It's a nice piece. BWS' influence is unmistakable.

Rick

dude thanks for showing us what you sculpted. That does look like Solar a lot and very clean.

I'm not sure what happens to sculpts sometimes once they leave the sculptors hands. Damn shame how things can change the original piece.

Thanks, guys....
BTW- I'm NOT saying bad things about DF or anyone. I Liked working with them, and Nick is a cool guy. But you're right- sometimes pieces DO wind up looking different. Soem times there can be odd shrinkage with molding, paints, etc.. Whatever......Bottom line- If you got the piece and the paint didn't look too good, one can always strip it and repaint it.
Anyway..... Just my 2.

Thanks for posting those pics, Rick! The originals look great! Sometimes I think the best thing to do is buy the statue and immediately have it re-painted...

There was a Thor bust sculpted by Gabe Marquez that looked great in his pre-paint pic, but they changed his whole face and ruined the piece... I wonder what these companies are thinking sometimes

it amazing how much difference a paint job
makes. its alot more grown up with a deeper
shade of red. i buy some stats based on
whether or not i can repaint them and its
nice to have that as an option.
