The Hitcher

Hi everyone,

I was just watching The Hitcher with my wife and at the 36 minute mark I quit. I'd just like to say that I'm so frustrated with these so called "horror" movies. That movie is not only horrid, but a complete abomination of cinema. I don't even know who directed the movie, but whoever did should never be allowed to direct again. There were 50 different problems I had with the movie from not watching the road while driving for what seemed to be a half hour to picking up a hitch hiker. People at a rest stop not helping a dead family in a car. And cops taking away two kids without listening to what happened first. And then a police department being invaded by a guy with a switch blade.

Not only is this the worst movie I've seen this year, but I feel a little dumber after being subjected to it for 36 minutes. Thanks for listening!

Original one is great.

Never understood the need to remake it.

I did not bother to care or see the remake.

Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?

I sat through the whole thing. Not a good movie by any stretch of the imagination.

Cool

I'd forgotten that they had made a remake. I always liked the original Hitcher.

well, they don't make "horror" movies much anymore.

My mother was a huge horror fan so I had the privilege to grow up with horror movies.

Today's "horror" movies are more teen slasher flicks so they can make money. Rater R movies just don't make the money anymore (with the few exceptions like 300).

I'm frustrated as anyone over this as there is no better feeling than sitting in a dark room around midnight with chills going down your back watching a classic Horror movie.

The Exorcist is really the only flick that gave me a chill down my spine. I love Halloween, but it's not scary.

This is not a HORROR movie. It is supposed to be a "Thriller/Slasher" flick.
And it fails, horribly.
