Greedy fuc&%rs! I appreciate that the child went through a traumatic event that I wouldn't wish on anyone but do the parents not think that the money that they are asking for might be better spent on say...going towards providing the things that the article said hadn't been provided by the state, such as a safer school environment?
None of the money grabbers seem to appreciate that this money has to come from somewhere.

I don't understand the thought process. Instead of just being thankful that their child survived this horrible ordeal, they are looking to get rich off of it.

Yeah, wouldn't the families of the kids who died have more of a case.

I would think that the child's parents would need expert witness testimony to substantiate the sustained trauma they're claiming. I would also imagine that the defense would find just as many experts to minimize the parents' claims. In the end, the real trauma for the child will likely stem from the parents and their lawyers doing whatever they can to help the child believe the trauma was enormous enough to appear convincing to a judge. I'd love to know how asking the child to constantly relive this experience is a positive.
Great.

Your child survived; that's blessing enough.
Trying to cash in on a massacre is gross... but common decency isn't always all that common.
I hope the town gets wind of this and sets this person straight.

When people can sue McDonald's because they spilled hot coffee on themselves, this is completely unsurprising. Kind of surprised it took this long to happen though.
