Old Krypto was more of a Lab or American Bulldog when he was introduced in the 50's. His newer incarnations lean more toward White German Shepherd, Husky or even Wolf Hybrid.

Ace the Batdog was a German Shepherd when introduced in the 50's but is a Great Dane in the comics currently. Every now and again he is a German Shepherd again....depends on the artist.

I really, really hope TH does an Ace someday. They tend to do a lot of Batman related characters so I have hope.

1955 must've been a popular year for dogs. Krypto and Ace were introduced 5 months apart that year.
