Your first...?

No, not THAT first. I thought it would be cool to see people's first [fill in the blank] that they ever got. Can be anything: con sketch, commission, published artwork, etc. I'll start with some of my firsts:

First published art: The Sentry #1, Page 16 by Jae Lee - yup, I have that page of an amnesiac Sentry in his underwear, being taunted by his Void-possessed dog.

First cover: Giant-Size Hulk #1 by Ryan Sook - featuring the Champions and one of my favorite characters, Black Widow, and even has appearances from Bruce Banner and Gladiator Hulk!

I'll post more as I think of them...

Hmmm... My first piece was from Amazing Spiderman #101 - pg 2 by Gil Kane. It was a 6-arm Spidey page. Cool piece. You'd be amazed what the page went for back in the day.

It is kind of funny, I can immediately recall my first commission. My first original page and my first cover I have to really think about.

First commission
Roguecrawler - X-men Forever. I had just started going to conventions and learning about getting commissions and meeting artists. I figured a mash up of two of my favorite X-men would be a fun one.

I want to say my first published page was this Target X Mike Choi page but realistically it was probably a Jeff Wamester page I bought from a good buddy of mine. I really like X-23 so I was tracking down anyone who worked on a book relating to her. He still had a sampling of pages so I luckily walked away with one.

First Splash page is from Drew Edward Johnson. He offered me an amazing price and I couldn't resist having a full figure splash from a Wonder Woman book (though not a splash of wonder woman). I'm sad I didn't have the funds but I wanted a page from earlier in the book where Drew had drawn himself partaking in "coca" cola via a straw, through his nose.

It is pretty sad that I don't remember what my first cover is. After looking through my scans I believe it is this Terry Dodson X-men cover. I think I only have three but mostly what I remember from them is the price tag !

This thread inspired me to upload to Caf in maybe two years, though I have to go back and do my write up on the Dodson cover.

First commission I got was when I was 16 from Ron Lim at the 1992 SDCC. Cost me $60.00 which was fortune for me at the time.

My first commission/sketch was from Dave Cockrum - Colossus vs Juggernaut. 1999 or 2000

My first page was a Ron Lim (go figure) page from Infinity War. 2001 or 2002. The funny thing is, I figured having a page with Warlock, Thanos and The Magus (along with Colossus, who's my favorite X-Man), I'd never need another Ron Lim page again. Man, was I wrong, LOL!
