with his pieces, and when he's patient with me my brain goes "Okay,
well I've got these other things that need to be done today" and then
all of a sudden it's a year later. It's the worst logic but it's
what's happened time and again. The Dr. Strange I'm working on for him
right now (process pics attached for proof reasons) is the 4th or 5th
time I've restarted the painting because every time I go to finish it
I realize that it doesn't cut the mustard (Gerry's going to be getting
a big package with alllllll of these because I feel I at least owe him
that much). That said, I'm going to finish this one, don't have too
much longer to go.
So anyway, not avoiding him, even though I am."

Does he really think this is acceptable?!

Evan is the definition of an artist that needs a rep to keep him on track and focused.

Why anyone pays up front for anything these days is beyond me? These artists need your money more than you need their art.

The vast majority of my commissions have been great experiences. Only a handful, less than 5 (?) have had issues. I'll never work with them again.
I don't mind paying upfront, since that's how most of them have it set up. The alternative would be not to have anything done. I guess its a balance that you have to decide for yourself.
