Well just thinking about meeting him in person when I was 14. He was not that nice at the comic convention.
As far as his art goes 50% of his commissions are really nice. 50% of his commissions are not so nice. But out of the 5 shown the Werewolf is the only one that I think is not very good. The background on the Werewolf is nice though.

Hey Gerry,
Thanks for posting your coloured versions of these John Byrne Monster commissions. I much prefer your "understated" or "subdued" colouring on these pieces as they suit the characters. On occasion, and this is just a personal opinion and meant only constructively, the colouring has seemed to "overwhelm" the artwork making it indistinct (if that makes sense).
My personal faves were the Morbius and Dracula pieces. These pieces show that John remains a highly talented creator. He knocked out my Shanna sketch in about 5 minutes and was a most gracious and charming host during my recent visit to his home
Best,
Royd

Really nice Gerry. What generally happens with the colored (or as you say coloured) pieces? Are they printed out or left as computer images?

I think the werewolf looks solid, Dracula seems a bit weak to me as does the Mummy, but I wouldn't turn any of them down if they were to be given to me!!
