ARH, Prices, and Frustration/Confusion!

So I ordered Attila the Hun from my local LCS and go to pick him up today and was told that it would be $230! I said how is it that much when the retail from the ARH website was only $160. Apparently Diamond charged my LCS person $150 and had the retail of the item as $230. I told him to keep it which upset him because I had special ordered it. ARH, will you please let me know what is going on here? I think Diamond may be messing up prices for your products which wouldn't be good for people wanting to buy your products. If this was a misprint, can you tell me how my LCS owner can get this fixed? I like Attila the Hun, but honestly I would not pay $230 for it....

Arahom probably has very little to do with this.

Your LCS owner did not pay 150.00 for it if he bought it from diamond. He paid 130.00, Diamond sold this statue as a net cost item which means there was no discount. The net cost is 130.00 so thats what he would have been charged on his invoice.

Diamond has no listed suggested retail price on this statue either. Here is a print screen of diamond's listing for this statue.

So either your LCS is misinformed or he is just trying to get more money out of you.

I pulled my Feb preview and it listed it as PI which is price inquire. That does tend to leave it up to the shop as to what to charge. If a retail price is on the box then usually most places do not charge more then that. But diamond has no guideline when it comes to pricing.

I hope this helps.

I've never had this guy pull fast ones on me and I hate to believe he is this time. Maybe its just a miscommunication or something. Oh well, still not buying it for the price he wants. If I do find out he's cheating me I will never buy one single product from him again.

Sorry man, but I have no idea why this is happening.

We sold Attila to Diamond Comics for the same price we sold all the other ones. I believe your LCS might be mistaking.

I would rather you buy it with your local store, but if you cannot make it work there, we have it in stock for you.

Either way, you won't be without one!
