Because by the time that happens, the likelihood of being able to correct any problem is NIL.

GREAT choice on the pose!! The face needs a little work, it's not quite pretty enough for Jean yet, but the expression is there. Her bust needs a little uplifting as well, she is wearing a bustier after all!
I'm an unabashed Mark Newman fan, so I know this statue is in good hands!

Just wondering... for discussion sake...
Would forum members here complained if this sculpt did not look like the Phoenix FS in resemblance, maybe in terms of facial structure.
But.... but resemblance to the original comics drawn.

Like it! I'm still wondering about the face though. I guess we'll see how it turns out.

Excellent so far! This is looking great, IMO. I don't think she's looking African. Compare the sculpt to John Byrne's drawings. Byrne's Jean had a very wide mouth with very full lips. Looks pretty close so far! I think the sculpt's lack of hair may be throwing some people.
I think the sculptor is on the right track.

That's my least favorite thing about Mark's Phoenix/Dark Phoenix FS... the face. I'm probably going to get rid of them before too long because I've grown to dislike them more and more over the years. I don't care for the costume design: the huge Phoenix was never on her green costume, it was always drawn small, at least in the early days (see avatar ). I don't particularly like her hair or her, um, balloon-like breasts either...
