2nd round of NHL Playoffs
Now that the 2nd round has begun and the defending champion Chicago Blackhawks are eliminated, who do you think will emerge as the new Stanley Cup champions? The second round match-ups are:
Vancouver Canucks vs Nashville Predators
Detroit Red Wings vs San Jose Sharks
Boston Bruins vs Philadelphia Flyers
Washington Capitals vs Tampa Bay Lightning
Personally, I would go with Washington. I just have this feeling about them this year that I can't explain.

I guess I misinterpreted that feeling about Washington. How sad to be a #1 seed and get swept out of the 2nd round so easily. It was barely even a fight for Tampa Bay. Boston and San Jose seem to be on the verge of doing the same thing to Philadelphia and Detroit. Only the Vancouver/Nashville series seems to have any drama to it.

Can't believe SJ won again by one goal! Detroit is up against the ropes! Niemi is holding up the fort, but for how long?

Although it was sad to see Washington to be eliminated, in the playoffs, firstplace does not mean anything. Vancouver is probabbly going all the way facing the Bruins.

Vancouver does look good, but you can't overlook SJ's strength with 3 very good offensive lines. Should be an awesome conference finals. It will come down to goaltending.

Agreed. And they are just incredibly fast - it just seems like DET just can't keep up with SJ. Its terrible to watch actually

SJ has it all....It is a matter if Niemi is gonna choke or not....He didn't do so well vs LA Kings, but doing much better against Detroit.
