Another Batman veteran's in a pretty bad medical pickle.

Former Detective Comics artist Tommy Castillo had a dangerous bout with diabetes last year, and it's left some residual damage; he could go blind within a year due to complications from the illness. His family is raising funds for his surgery:

That is sad/unfortunate. Hopefully the surgeries are a success.

Part of me wonders though, why some many of these artists do not have health insurance today - especially someone who already knows they have diabetes. Some things boggle the mind.
