Nice work R - these will look great when finished. Let me know when they are done - might have to make a trip down to check out the new place.

I went to my KMart and they do have these so I will keep an eye out for going out of business sale. Can you explain how you painted these? How did you prep to make sure the paint adheres? What kind of paint did you go with?

If I had known you'd make a trip I would have said I was done so you could help, lol.

I used a Rustoleum textured spray paint I picked up at Lowe's. The only prep involved was making sure there wasn't any dust, etc and then 20 cans later, lol.

Thanks everyone. As soon as I saw this color paint I knew it was perfect for the room.

Now comes the expensive part: glass shelves. Thankfully the cabinets came with glass doors.

I'd be there to lend a hand R

I the paint setting up well? I would be concerned about it peeling off or chipping, especially where the glass slides and bumps up against the sides.

Now I am really hoping my Kmart goes out of biz

The paint set up very well. It dries in about 30 minutes then you can apply another coat. Everything was painted at least 48 hrs before I brought it into the house and then I let it all sit for another 24 to get acclimated.

There are bumpers inside the door tracks to prevent the glass from bumping the metal....and chipping the paint.
