Your Worst Job

Name one or a few really bad jobs you've had. I can think of a bunch seeing that I worked in retail for almost 20 years. But the 3 that come to mind are:

Age 17- Foodtown (Porter)

Age 22- U.S. Postal Service (Temp. Clerk)

Left about 6 years ago- BJ's Wholesale Club (Overnight Manager)

The best job I had was when I was 20 working at the RKO Warner Video Store chain.

I've had bad jobs, but nothing that I didn't, at least in part, enjoy at the time.

Lowest paying job was shipping at the Body Glove warehouse, but I more than made up for it in goofying off time.

Dirtiest job was security at a men's homeless shelter.
That one didn't pay much either, but the food was free.

Most physically demanding job was building sandbag bunkers in the Former Yugolavia only to have our company OC decide once it was finished (naturally) that it was too far forward and needed to be moved.

Another bunker collapsed a three story building into a single story building, while I was sleeping on the ground floor. That was fun.

Of course, that one needed to be rebuilt too.

Most of mine have been pretty bad.
I was in retail from 16-24.
Had lots of short term tempory jobs cos of uni and thinks but the whole sector of jobs did my head in.
I am now out of retail and am liking my current job loads better.

My advice get out of retail asap

When I was 17 years old I got my first job at Woolworths.

my first day the guy I was replacing was showing me how to properly break down an empty box.

He put the box on the ground and told me that if your punch doesn't break tape on the first shot you will have to cut the box up, thus taking up more time.

His fist when through the box and hit the concrete floor, he broke a couple of knuckles and that was the last I saw of him.

my second week, one of the guys decided to run up the convear belt instead of using the stairs. As he was halfway up one of the other guys thought it would be funny to reverse the direction of the belt as he was running up.

He fell backwards on the steel rollers cracking his tailbone. The guy who did it got fired of course, and I had to to the work of 2 guys until they could get someone else hired.

Good times! lol
