I just ordered a Playstation 3 on Best Buy.com supposed to be here no later than the 24th. That's unless it gets cancelled. Just thought I would tell you guys it was just posted over at Fat Wallet.com So you may have a shot here. Hell it does not hurt.

I just ordered one but I wonder if they will come through. I thought BB was not going to do any pre-orders.

Looks like it was legit and they may have sold out of their "online" allotment

I hope so Candy but I'm not 100% confident. I'm seeing chatter on the boards going both ways. Some folks are saying that the order link was hacked and should not have been out there. Some have called BB and spoken to customer service reps who said it was legitimate and other to reps who said it wasn't and that cancellation e-mails would be going out in the morning. What gets me is that the link was up and taking orders for over 2 hours. You would think they would have sold their allotment a lot quicker. Of course it is a wierd hour. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Me too but I'm getting the sense that BB screwed up. Hopefully they will honor the preorders. Here are some comments I pulled off the boards:

Hey...waited for over an hour to talk to the BB customer service girl and the official word they are being told to tell everyone is that they are unsure what will happen with the preorders...previously they had been told there would be no online preorders, but someone somehow leaked the link online to people to preorder...she said there is no word yet on any sort of compensation if the orders are cancelled, so really we all will just have to wait a couple days to find out...

i called best buy and they told me that it was an error on the page, and when i told them i had already placed my order they transfered me. during this transfer i was hung up on by best buy so who knows whats going on?

I also talked to a rep who told me that Sony never authorized a Best Buy preorder and that we should wait until tomorrow until corporate can sort this out.
