Increased shipping costs

I want to know if everyone had to pay a lot more for shipping.

I don't understand this high price. I need to understand why I paid three times less for heavy resin statue than this full plastic hall of armor.

If all my orders will have similar shipping costs I have to cancel all my orders on Sideshow.

They need to cover the costs of those $300 "art" prints.

That is obscene. How much does that thing even weigh, 15 pounds?

Seems like a lot. That's close to shipping fees for some XM pieces. Maybe the shipping box is large and the dimensional weight is driving the cost up?

I just purchased the new Thor PF and I know that it is a fairly large box compared to most PFs. Shipping to US east coast was around $55. I think the weight was around 34 lbs.

It's because of the dimensional weight.

The specs for the box are what they're sending to the shipping courier when they print the shipping labels.

That said, no way in hell I'd justify that fee at those dimensions. The weights and total box dimensions are structured similar to tax brackets. Once one is exceeded, the price jumps to the next bracket.

Call UPS and get a commercial quote with that information. I can almost guarantee it'll be around that price, but Sideshow needs to verify that the weight isn't drastically overestimated.

This is what's determining the shipping cost:

Box Size
Height: 20.00" (508 mm) | Width: 25.00" (635 mm) | Depth: 37.00" (939.8 mm) | *
Dimensional Weight
81.00 lbs (36.74 kg) [Intl. 135.00 lbs (61.24 kg)] *

I did a quote for a UPS shipment over three zones with this info. See the attached photo. SS pricing seems a bit steep, especially considering the discount they would be getting for commercial contracts...

Think about it. A box 3 ft by 3 ft that weighs a pound. Should it only cost $10.00 considering it takes up a lot of space on plane/ truck that could hold other packages?

Shipping is just obnoxious sometimes. I worked for UPS several years ago, and honestly, one inch, or even one ounce can mean an additional 100 USD. That's burden of using software to regulate pricing. Some people get a break, while others pay too much... However, most people are paying the appropriate amount, which is a very good thing.

BTW, your footer on your comments makes me chuckle every time I see it. What is this from? Been driving me crazy trying to figure it out lol.

But I already have similar size package with a really lower price from Sideshow. So that's not a valid argument.
And normally the shipping price is determining by the weight.

I paid less for an half size statue, so...

Ouch, that shipping price sucks. That's why I rarely buy anything oversea's.

The last time I did, I purchase a coin from a mint in France for my Dad's birthday.

It cost 1/4 the price of the coin to have it shipped to the USA.

Yesterday my Hot Toys Wonder Woman Deluxe Version shipped from Sideshow
Shipping $40 import $66. That's $106 on top of the product price (which was $249.00)

There was one small bonus, i used a $25 code (+ earn 224 SS points).
There's always the possibly of a second bonus, the value of the Hot Toy going through the roof
