ANOTHER Heroescon Haul

I had forgotten to post this when I uploaded but here it is:

http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=183651

It's a pretty eclectic bunch. I think it took about half the con just to get the Ordway and Davis pieces.

I was really surprised by Adam Bryce Thomas who I only knew as a Sonic artist. His stuff was really, really good.

It was cool to see Sean Galloway's take on Hobgoblin, even if it was a first go at a head shot, since he and Scorpion were the characters I was looking forward to seeing in Spectacular Spider-Man.

I have zero idea who The Shade is, or the artist who drew him -- but damn that is a stand-out.

Also really like the Peterson's Gmork and Baldwin's Mr. Mind

Shade was done by Wilfredo Torres who did the Jupiter's Circle books by Mark Millar and did a mini of The Shadow. I figured if he did The Shadow justice he would do the same with the Shade and he did, in spades.

Yeah, Mr. Mind was a weird one but suited Creaturebox even though they didn't have a clue who he was. They dug the Golden Age look with the radio as you can tell.

I'm super glad Petersen was still doing toned commissions (I asked in another thread and it turned out chepaer than I thought) because his rendition of Gmork has been rolling around in my mind for quite a while.

Tex is a cool guy to talk to and I was able to see a little bit of his work for the upcoming Ghost Rider book. It was nice to get a bit of news before any chatter hit the internet. Also it's well worth the $5 to get anything signed as even his super quick sketches are nice.
