This is what was said on Tweeterhead's Facebook page (I took out the person's name that they were responding too but they did explain why they did what they did)

pose is the same. We made changes to the cape and reoriented the base. And actually added more detail and features to the base like vents and steam.

Tweeterhead I have a side by side pic of what was shown at SDCC 2022 and this new piece. There is absolutely no way the pose wasn't changed. His entire lower half is completely different. But, OK.

you're correct that the legs were switched to accommodate the base change and adjust the tension in the pose. But the silhouette is still generally the same.

I also think the original cape looks 10 times better.
I'm most likely not buying this piece at all. And I was 100% in on the original. So, this might make me also just sell off my Ivy and Joker, because what's the point of having them with no Batman?
And, quite frankly, it pisses me off that they had the nerve to try and insult my intelligence by claiming the pose hadn't changed at all.

I agree on your Facebook post, that was a bad, and obvious, answer. But come on with the rest.
Sorry you don?t like it anymore, but ?feminine and almost dainty? And threatening to sell your collection?
I feel like it went from an A to a B. I have no idea how so many are instantly going from A+ to F.

Stating I will potentially sell two pieces isn't "threatening to sell my collection." It's a simple fact. They've already gotten my money, so they don't give a ----. It's a statement, not a threat.
I'm sorry you're bothered by my opinion. That's a you thing, not a me thing. But, I do not like the new piece at all, so no, I will not be spending $560+ on a 1/6 scale Batman statue that I feel they ruined. If you're happy with it, cool

It went from an A- to C in my view. Some people have more of an eye for detail and subtlety than others, and so the changes might not bother them as much. The original was aggressive and natural looking, and the cape was WAY better. The new is awkward in my view. Nobody rises up on their toes on both feet like that when throwing something. They shifted his weight to his back leg and so his back foot should be planted. Statues don't move so it's important the pose looks natural or else the longer you look at it the weirder it looks. For whatever reason, they changed it, and it's not going back, but just planting his back foot would go a long way toward making this pose better.

Ivy and Joker don't need a Batman. Just make a collection of rogues since it seems that the perfect Batman isn't going to be made in either 1:4 or 1:6 scale.
I can't wait to see what the new SS Batman looks like. If it comes anywhere close to the greatness of the original TH Batman, it will be plain as day why TH had to change theirs.
And let the record reflect, I don't think this Batman is bad at all. The problem is we saw the original - which was perfect - and it got changed to this. The disappointment is logical when the original was sooooo good. I don't even own male statues and I can appreciate how dope the original Batman was.

Makes me kinda wonder ...is SSC making a full 1/4 statue version of their Batman Bust?
This TH Batman MAQ upper body is the same sculpt to that SSC Batman Bust. Maybe TH had the same pose/stance as SSC? So TH was asked to change it?

Just to kill SOME speculation...
DC / WB nor Sideshow asked us to change anything on the pose. It was all internal.
I discussed it on Batman Statue Collector a couple of weeks ago (Chad was supposed to but his battery dying dropped him out early) but when Chad saw the Batman work in progress at SDCC, he saw some things he wanted to tweak with it. So after the show he went back to the digital sculpt, which wasnt 100% done anyways, and worked with Guillermo on some changes.
"Tweaks" can have ripple effects, and Chad ended up tweaking a bit more, and got to where the new one is. Not a total reinvention, but yah, its changed a bit.
I see pros and cons to both versions of him. Chad and I dont agree on everything, which I think is healthy, we both bring unique POV's to everything we do. I was happy with the original but I also support Chad since he has a strong passion for DC, and he wanted to see the new JLA trinity line-up through to the end, and that way I could focus more on MOTU, Myths & Monsters, etc.
End of the day, you cant make everyone happy. We're stoked people like what we make and want to support us, and if you're not happy with the new direction we'll probably make another Batman in a couple of years. I hate this one Batman took this long to come out, we shouldve had two Batmans done in that time, but not everything in life goes according to plan. Some of that is on me, some on Chad, and some on circumstances completely out of our hands. But we made it, FINALLY, and Im excited to get onto new stuff and show off this Batman with Superman and Wonder Woman soon... they do all look great together.
