I have to know exact dimension to see whether this one will fit my display cabinet. (which is the last space in my home I can use) Hopefully it will fit.
Rexy 1:10 from Iron can fit but unsure about this one, seems way bigger for 1:12. My 1:8 rotunda can't fit in normal display cabinet and require a whole separate display which I can't make another one for this 1:12.

The price seems quite hi for 1:12 too.

Also. unsure whether this one will have a leaning problem. My city always has hi temperature all years and there is no air conditioner in my display space (even if it has, still unusual to open air conditioner all days for statues)

My Blue 1:6 from prime 1 and Raptors in the kitchen from Iron did have leaning problems so I have to use acrylic rods to sustain them in appropriate positions.

EEC's offering is still a work in progress, yet as shown the statue just appears much more organic, lifelike and striking. Not to sound too corny, but it rekindles some of the awe I felt when I saw JP for the first time in 1993.
More or less this.

However, even if i've spent much of my time in this Thread doing the opposite of praising the Chronicle 1:5, certain things here are not true.
Saying the piece lacks any spark of life is completely untrue for instance. Thanks to glass eyes, acrylic teeth and translucent claws (all 12 of them), and the insane sculpt, the thing looks 100% alive in person.
Stuck in a very rigid and still pose maybe, but completely alive nonetheless.

Just for love of truth.
It's hard for me to think someone could be more excited for this ECC piece than me, but even size aside i don't expect certain things on the CC to ever be topped.

Was hoping it might be a bit bigger, looks roughly about the same size as the P1 T-Rex/Velociraptors piece. Can't wait to preorder.

My personal prefernces and opinions are not "truths" by any means of the imagination. I am glad you love your Chronicle 1:5th rexy an I am equally glad I did not waste my hard earned money on it. Let's leave it at that. As for "topping" the 1:5th rex, with Infinity Studio and Queen studios getting a JP license, time will tell.

Thanks for the thoughtful question man. I am probably not the best source because I don't actually own the 1/5 rex sadly, although I will say that the other 2 Chronicle maquettes I do own the Stego and Pachy, both looked much better in person.

For me though, the only thing the Chronicle 1/5 has that I definitely want is the sculpt (thank you again THX) The sculpt is 100% authentic and irreproachable, directly cast from the Winston pieces.

With that said, pretty much everything else about it is up for debate. I could have literally just bought one of the many castings kicking around ebay right now, paid one of the well-known JP themed-artists to put it together and paint it for me, and probably been just as happy if not moreso with the result. The paint scheme on the Chronicle 1/5 is authentic to 1 or 2 daylight scenes in the movie that were aggressively color-corrected, but it isn't authentic to the maquette I saw in the behind the scenes footage from the first movie. That was the maquette that first made me think "man... I wanna own that" lol.

Also the base is a pretty big deal to me, and it always bothered me that the Chronicle base isn't symmetrical. Either round off all the corners or don't round any of them IMO. It just looks sloppy. The base for this ECC piece is exactly what I always wanted from a JP dinosaur collectible: classy, natural and adding a little bit of color and realism to bring it all together without being a distraction (love the prime 1 pieces but dang those bases are elaborate lol. Not what I'm looking for).

Also obviously there are just fewer barriers to entry on this ECC piece with the more manageable size and price. Anyways, unless something goes terribly wrong with the sculpt or the paint from here it will almost certainly be mine and I will be very happy.

Looks about that size. Red apple is about 5 tall.

Based on this estimate the head would be about 11-12 inches long of it was mounted like the CC female JP bust. The CC female bust was a little under 16?.

What made you decide on not getting the Kit and building it or having it built?

After seeing Yankeetrex?s 1:5 build completed about 4 months ago I have been very interested in doing the same. Now this is released and it has completely invigorated my interest in owning a big badass T Rex.

Sorry I introduced the CC vs the ECC conversation into the thread. I?m always looking for the best. But the truth is pieces are the best to different people for different reasons. They both appear to be top shelf pieces, but I brought up the topic because I can only afford one for space and cost reasons.

Interesting about IS and QS getting the licenses. I?m interested to see what they are gonna do. It?s gonna be hard to compete with Wang?s relationship with SWS and CC?s piece being from the molds.

Having Seen this piece, if I didn't already own the 1:5th kit, this would have definitely made it hard to make a decision on what I would do. The kit version of the 1:5th is around the same price of this piece.

I preface the following by stating that I am a Jurassic Park/World collector only. I also sculpt the made and unmade creatures of this series in maquette forms as a side business. So I'm hyper-obsessed with the look of these creatures.

Personally, I care about the actual SWS lineage of Maquettes. So a piece like this is a little off to my eye. As stated by a few of you, there is def something off with the bottom jaw, and the lower teeth are also off of the maquette, mainly being too small.

If the purpose of this piece is to replicate the Perot Rex, I'd say it's about 80-85 percent there. Some reworking of the head and neck plus the new paint will help bring this to the next level. Excited to see it develop!
