Interrogate Mike

Mike- Is there any particular likeness(es) that you've found difficult to capture? Based on what I've seen of your works, you always deliver... I'm just curious if you have a harder time with some than others. Thanks!-Cyberpunk12

I think all likeness are difficult. I think Bela is a hard one to capture. Never see one that really captures him.Because faces like Bela,Ringo Starr and people like that have such strong features its easy to carry it into charicature.

Also scale has a lot to do with it as well.

Let me think on it...

Mike, do you have a frustration story? A sculpt that has completely stumped you to the point that you just abandoned the piece unfinished?

For someone of your caliber, its hard to believe this at all. Cyberpunk12 said it perfectly, "you always deliver."

Have you ever NOT delivered?

Mike, Aragorn from LoTR appears to have been a stumbling block for a number of companies including Sideshow and Cinemaquette. Any reason why thay might be?

I cant rememer that happening. Like I said Bela is tough.I also did a 1/8 Ripley that was trickey.
I'll be honest it never really comes easy,I just keep persevering.

AND I'm never happy.I just give it my best shot.

Actually I do remember a piece that I couldnt get right-Bruce Lee.But that was approx 16 years ago.

If you had only piece of sculpture left that you could do before you die, what would it be?

Not sure. Maybe a self-portrait since I've never done one and I'd like to see just how tortured and twisted a freak I really am.
