Hey, IW! Not bad!

Hey, I have a question for those of you who've commissioned sculpts before. What is the actual protocol for that? I really, really, really like the scupt for the upcoming Alex Ross Supergirl Justice figure, and would love to commission a FS sculpt of her in scale with the Alex Ross Superman Forever statue. But, I don't really know how to go about fishing for prices and such.

Any tips?

And why is that? Because one leads to many, or are you speaking from bad experiences?

Honestly, a little bit of both, while most of my experiences in commissions have been very positive, I can't deny that there have been an equal share of COMPLETE nightmares as well.

If you do decide to go into this, go into with your eyes open a HELL OF A LOT of patience pills on the ready!

I figured patience is the key. I'm just unsure how to find the right sculptor, or how to approach them once I've decided. Also, what would you say would be a reasonable price for something like that?

First rule of commissions, no discussion of prices or sculptors (without their permission) on open forum.

Ah. Okay. I thought generalities were okay. Sorry, sorry. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
