"like the proto" = how P1, ECC comparably really expensive pieces are LIKE their protos

"close to the proto" = flaws, glaring omissions
Think the MK 1:3 ninjas Akuma's hair, Sideshow's 1st Red Sonja.

Goro is a phuking $1,400 statue ordered 2 years before delivery. "Close" ain't gonna cut it.

I have to disagree there...the 1:3 ninjas came anything but close to the protos. Akuma on the other hand apart from the hairline did come close to the proto and Ryu came exactly close to the proto. So far from what we've seen from Goro he seems to be acceptably close enough to the proto imo.

Well we can agree the Ninjas were not up to par and Ryu definitely is. Akuma's hair is a defining attribute so it matters but not just the hair: the googly eyes and flaking kanji on Shin. Those things are not acceptable.

Ryu's quality is what I expect and will accept. I expect to get what I see. If not I punt it right back where it came from.

Agreed on Ryu being the benchmark. My Akuma had the cracked kanji but not sure if it's flaking. He had perfect eyes though. The real killer is the hairline as the kanji can be (though shouldnt have to be) fixed.

It's supposed to ship this month but pretty sure we'll only start seeing the first in hand pics next month.

Any news on when goros shipping. It’s this or prime one Superman, but PCs is taking too long.
