What is a colorguide

I have a chance to buy some colorguides of my favorite comic but I dont know what a colorguide really is.

colorguides are reducuctions of the original inked art that have been colored by hand(water color/inks, airbrush, or marker), usually for reference to then be scanned and retouched for final print.

are they good pices to collect, not to resale but just to have in your collection?

if it is not for resale and just for your personal collection then only you can answer that question

some are really nice. i like it when they have notations that kinda show u the thought process behind some of the decisions.

Tom Smith's colorguides are usually really nice, clean and fun to look at. and he's done a lot of George Perez, so that helps.
