Boston Comic Con - report (with pics)

Ok so arrived at show at 8:30 or so to get in line and lucked out and was like #3 or so...show opened on time at 10 and luckily it was not raining..About 100 people in line at the opening.

Got downstairs and again lucked out and scored the first Fastpass sketch for Tim Sale. Chatted with him for a bit and he signed a few HCs and books for me. Really nice guy. Line was about 25 deep after he signed my items.

Hit the con and of course ol Teddy was not even close to being set up (Superworld). More about Teddy later. Saw old friend Mike Shuley and we chatted for a bit and CKB had his table going strong. Said hi to Bob Storms but did not see too much action at his table while was there (left the show around 1230). He had some really nice cgc books and a sweet 9.6 ASM #122.

Bechera set up and had some nice artwork and some books but did not see any prices on anything. He may have had it on a laptop but did not spend too much time there. Saw ol Saul walking around (he was not set up). Said hi to Andy at Golden Age but did not see anything at his table.

Went back to Teddy and we finished up an old deal and made a new one. Scored a really nice ASM #44 and 55 (see pics below). Teddy had some nice books including a nice ASM #5 (cgc 6.5) and Avengers #16 (cgc 8.5). He also had some nice golden age books on the wall.

Several other dealers had artwork and statues but did not see anything there for me. A good crowd when I left. Looked around a little longer and then took off. A good show. I enjoyed it. Here are a few piks...

Tim signing my books...

You better be man, Trimpe was mobbed today. I couldn't get at him as I only had an hour. I hope to at least chat him up tomorrow.

Seems like a great show this time. I've ultimately decided to pass on it to save money. It kind of sucks becasue I've wanted to meet Walt Simonson for over a decade now, but at least it nearly guarantees that I'll have plenty of cash to go around in April when Jim Lee's there.

Wait a minute! Are Jim Lee and Mike Mignola confirmed for April?
