All it takes is one distracting person to kill my experience. People are so inconsiderate nowadays, more interested in their cell phones and stuffing their faces with the noisiest foods possible than the actual movie. While I don't pay for IMAX or 3D I will pay a premium price for reserved seating and 21 & over theaters to lessen the odds of tarnishing the experience. If I can't do that I'm content waiting out the BD release.
You Oregonians must be animals. I can't remember the last time my movie experience was ruined by cell phones or noisy eaters.

Actually at my second viewing of Wonder Woman last week there was a woman in the row in front of me and a few seats to my right who was texting through the whole film. The constant flashing light from her cell phone was incredibly annnoying.

Probably California transplants, not Oregonians. They're like a virus that's continuing to spread up here now. They've ruined their state with overtaxation and unbearable cost of living expenses now they're fleeing in droves.

That's said it doesn't happen to me often because I generally avoid the crowds and go when it's slow. I saw WW opening weekend however, figured I'd take a chance because I really wanted to see the film. My experience wasn't ruined but I did have to listen to 'popcorn shuffle guy' a few rows back and watch 'cell phone girl' a few rows in front of us. It just confirmed why I avoid opening weekend.

Folks here in Texas are probably the worst. If had to express myself freely here about some of the dumbest, most annoying crap I encounter, I'd probably be banned, especially for the things I'd say about my fellow Mexicans.

I use to hit the theater several times a week. Now it's no more than once per month. I usually just get the digital version on my Amazon account.

That's why you go to places like Alamo Drafthouse, where the employees actively eject people who are annoying and/or looking at their phones.

I'd fully support a theater chain like that if we had one here.
