any more info on this price...ect?
They cheaped-out on us. The Deluxe version should have been 3 full skeletons, with shields and drawn swords. I don't like this one full skeleton while the other two are popping up through the ground. it would've been literally 3X better if the deluxe has 3 skeletons. I'm not going to buy 3 regular skeletons to create my desired display. Plus the pose of the skeleton lifeless. He needs to be in an athletic pose.

The same mold was used for the three heads. All three skeletons have exactly the same head.

Critique - I understand that the statue is mimicking the original special effects from the movie. But, in my opinion, there in lies the rub - as SFx have improved over the decades - the wow factor on these types of effects have waned....and this translates to this figure.
By today's standards, this skeleton looks more cartoon approximation than scary.....however, the conundrum would be, if a more realistic skeleton was used, would it still reflect the feel of the original movie? Probably not.....

This is all about Harryhausen. Those magical moments of stop motion, when the scene starts and it?s another world for a while. Yes product of the times, but it?s still magic. The handwork and crafting of it all is still impressive. I?m old enough to have caught one of the last Sinbad movies in theaters, I hope they do the saber tooth cat.

I received mine yesterday after finally finding one for a decent price (still too expensive though plus I got a ?50 customs charge).
I never liked the pose much because the skeletons never stood with the sword in that position in the film, but on receiving the figure, as well as the pose not being accurate to the film, I found the sword to be very distracting. It's actually Infront of the skeletons face from any sort of distance away from the statue.
I immediately decided to mod the pose, even though this worried me a bit with such an expensive statue.
I will include some photos taken when I unboxed the statue yesterday and then later after I finished repositioning the sword arm.

I used a modeling saw to cut the elbow at the joint. I found it had a steel rod running through the arm though, so reluctantly had to use a Dremel with a cutting disc. Luckily the operation went well and I finally separated the forearm.
I then used automotive body filler to build up the elbow area of the upper arm where it was cut.
The forearm only needed a bit of filler at the front and the back elbow area filing down.
Once both ends of the arm were shaped to mate together so the arm was in a straight position, I drilled a hole in both arm sections and added a new steel rod before gluing it.
I then mixed some paints to match the colour of the skeleton and painted the filler.
I kept the modification small, probably less than 1mm of filler and paint went onto the actual original surface of the arm sections.
As well as the sword no longer getting in the way of the face, it now matches the pose of the original skeletons in the film.....
