It sold out a tad earlier than release, which means around 1 - 1.5 years from preorder (duh, record). And they're making it pass like the original is the Exclusive and this is a Regular (coming out 3 years later, lol).
Just come out straight and say "we reprinted this thing with a different base and no switch outs, gg". I don't see the point in justifying what they're doing with their own franchise, it's not like it will make the original owners feel any better.

I can see your point of view if you already have this piece. But for guys like me who didn't get involved with this line until recently it is a nice option.

I remember when he went on sale back in the day, but it was just a generic grim reaper statue back then. It had no connection to this collection or story. I didn't even look twice at it. Wasn't interested. But now that the story has come out evolving into what it is now as well as having all the other characters introduced, it's nice to know that some of us late to the line still has a chance to own something this cool that was retconned into the story. Granted, it's definitely not as cool as the original one, but it's still a nice option for us.
