Nice little local show in VA on April 5

Just received notice that the Capital Assoc. Comic Book and Pop Culture Show is on Sunday, Apr 5th. 10am-3pm.

Free Admission for a change. (usually 4-5 bucks)

The show is near Tyson's Corner in Northern VA, for those of you who live in the Metro, DC area.

I go a couple times a year and score nice deals on back-issues, statues, cards, art, gaming stuff, and even MB's and Statues (although there's never a great choice on MB's and Statues)

Maybe 30 comic tables, usually a few artists (Frank Cho was at the last one, unannounced). DVD sales, toys, the usual stuff.
This is a real old fashioned comic show; no hype, just comics and the folks who collect them.
See you there.

www.capicons.com for directions.

Hmmm.. may have to stop by. It's not too far from me

Has it always been at the VFD? Was it held at the any of the Tysons hotels at any point?

It was held at a Tyson's Hotel, maybe 4 years back. There's another which still occasionally runs in a Hotel but its a much smaller show. This one has been at the Fire Station for around 3-4 years now.
Don't come expecting a big Con, I'll see you in Baltimore for that one, this is just a show very much like the comic-shows of my youth. Comics, some other stuff, and more comics. Tons 'o nerds! I use it to fill in my Silver and Bronze holes, also pick up Marvel and DC Treasuries and B&W, 70's Horror Comics.

Another small show this coming Sunday (2/7) in No. VA.
Weatherman says we're expecting a boatload of snow but if the roads are clear, I'll be hitting it. Like I've said, this is a cool little show where you can stumble upon some great deals.
