Goodfellas is one of my favorite films. I've read that the transfer for the BD stinks (for whatever reason). What are the chances of getting a rerelease ala Fifth Element for this awesome movie?
Can anyone who has it tell me if it's as bad as I've heard? I'm itchin to buy it, but if they'll make a better transfer down the road, I can wait.

I bought Goodfellas on BD and it isn't that bad. Not the best transfer but certainly better than my standard DVD upconverted which is good enough for me as its one of my favorite films as well. Plus it only cost me $10 so I can't complain. As far as a re-release goes like the Fifth Element I wouldn't expect one anytime soon. Maybe in a few years when BD becomes more popular and studios start to attempt to get customers to double dip on titles like they currently do with DVD.
As far as my collection goes I picked up the Spider-Man Trilogy on amazon for $48.95. Probably not the cheapest its been but a good price nonetheless.

Shoot em up is one of the most fun to watch movies in ages. The transfer and audio on this one is awesome.
