The Batman versus Iron Man
Who wins in each of the following categories.
1. physical strength? Batman
2. fighting skill? Batman
3. superhuman powers? Iron Man (while he currently has no powers he did have significant Extremis powers at one time)
4. intellect? Iron Man
5. personal resources (including wealth)? Iron Man
6. technology? Iron Man
7. allies? Batman (hard to counter someone who can call in the JLA)
8. better enemies? Batman
9. importance of their role in their respective universes? Iron Man
10. memorable story lines? Batman
11. in a battle against each other with zero preparation? Iron Man
12. in battle against each other with full knowledge of the other and 1 week prep? Batman

Yeah I should have specified, but physical strength was without any armor in my head.
Bats has some fairly powerful battle suits of his own, but I doubt any of them could match the Iron Man Godkiller Mark II.

I find this answer interesting as while Batman is an important hero within the DC Universe, I've never really seen him as much of a focal point outside of his role with the JLA. Even with them, he's generally been portrayed as an part-timer more interested in his own mission.

No worries as these threads are a great place to learn aspects about characters I've known for years, but may have missed some issues on.
As for my case for Tony Stark (Iron Man) I would include the following:
1. both a founding member and a multiple times chairman of the Avengers, the highest profile team of heroes on Earth in the Marvel Universe,
2. the chief financier of the Avengers,
3. along with Thor and Captain America is considered to be one of the "Big Three" core Avengers,
4. a member of the very influential and largely secretive Illuminati,
5. the chief technologist and CEO of various Stark companies that have supplied a vast majority of the high technology used by various governmental, law-enforcement, and military organizations including SHIELD,
6. owner of Damage Control a principle company responsible for clean-up and restoration of damage to infrastructure caused by superhuman battles,
7. served as Director of SHIELD,
8. served as the United States Secretary of Defense,
9. was the first human to possess, wear and use the Infinity Gauntlet,
10. led the pro-registration side during the Civil War event
