I have to say, the prices just make me all the more happy I got out when I did. $49.99 is too much and now were seeing $59.99 on a regular basis now. These prints should be at most $39.99. Anything more than that, without some sort of remark sketch or something is....well, in my book its just not worth it. In all honesty, I always felt they should be $29.99 but I was ok paying $39.99. I am sure we will see $69.99 before too long.

I do have to say that I continue to be utterly baffled by Aspen's print choices. Dragon Con is just another perfect example as the only print I like is the Campbell Fathom, which is basically just a recolor of the print they released at the SDCC. IMO, the other prints are mediocre at best. I was really hoping for some cool sci-fi covers from Overtaken and that print is one of the worst of the lot. No Sci-fi element to it at all really. Just another basic female with a gun print, with some splashy painted backdrop. Meanwhile they have released some really nice covers on the comic side, that would have made really nice prints. A few examples:
There are a TON more and all are VASTLY superior choices in regards to what covers to make into prints. I really just don't understand it all, short of the person picking having really bad taste. Oh well, if anything it only makes it easier to say no.
By the way, Top Cow released another Aphrodite IX print (limited to 50) which is really nice. One of my favorite Top Cow prints released thus far.
Simon Stålenhag is actually one of my favorite artists. I have a lot of prints of his work. I am a sci-fi junkie so his work is right up my alley. I have actually been working on a photography series for years that deals with sci-fi like architecture. Unfortunately, being a photographer, I actually have to go out and find subject matter, which is incredibly difficult. He gets to create it. I should have become a painter, lol.
I don't have many of my pictures scanned but here are a couple to give you an idea of what I am talking about.
Oh, and if anyone is interested in buying any of Simon's work, just follow the link.
