If You Could Only Buy Art From One Artist, Who'd You Choose?

So yeah, ONE comic book artist's work can grace your walls and Itoyas. I picked an Honorable Mention as well, so I guess... that's "allowed".

Agreeably this is an impossible task for most of us, but after the time spent talking with the man in person, following him/his career/his love for his family/appreciation of his fans (through so many ways) on Facebook, and his amazing artistic skills...he does FAR more than just superheroes...

.. my pick's Aaron Lopresti.

(Honorable mention pick is my bro-in-law, Mark Rose, who'd be workin' for the big two if he wasn't EA's whipping boy already. The man can draw/paint masterpieces - comic-related and otherwise - in any medium, including digital).

John Byrne is the reason comics stuck with me in the first place, and the majority of what I own is from him.

Honorable mention would be JRJr for sure. I have one small sketch, but I would love to be able to throw a ton of money at him.

Although I'll probably never own a piece of his art because of price, Todd McFarlane.

Honorable mention (another out of my price range): Jim Lee

One artist is too difficult to pick. I assume we are talking comic art. I would probably pick someone that leaned more towards illustration. A Dave Stevens or current Adam Hughes work. This is if I had to pick only one.

Honorable mention goes to Andy Park who started with comics but is now a movie/videogame concept artist. It is amazing to see his work progress from Tomb Raider to the Avengers drawings. I still have a Lara Croft sketch from him.

Assuming I get to work with the artist at his best, it would be John Romita Sr.

Honorable mention: Alex Ross.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.
