Her pose is accurate is she's about ready to hit something with all her might... Otherwise yeah it's a weird pose...
The base looks to be an old Willy Jeep which are kind of small...

The only thing I find interesting in this piece is the base. The statue itself... No Wow factor.
The unmasked portrait does not blend with the action pose, no emotion at all.
The mouth on the masked portait is a poor attempt to imitate the Sideshow piece.
If she is jumping out from the jeep, shouldn't her left foot be in a forefoot strike position, not laying flat on the hood to show some force to it.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about the mouth on the masked version, looks like she's in a wind tunnel... As for the jeep, odds are it was already smashed before she jumped on it, after all, she's not the Hulk

Look at the size of the wheel or headlights comparing to the head of X23...
I still think the base is a pedal car. After all, she's a young lady, right? Young enough or not too old to play with a pedal car.

I am looking to make this my first XM piece! Was pretty excited but some of the comments here highlighted some very good points on her shortcomings, does XM normally take on collector feedback or does the proto represent the final product?

There was many critiques on X-23 base. I think they will look into it before the PreOrder starts.

+1 they should do as many tweaks as they reasonably can before PO... this one is not an all star unfortunately...
