I keep coming back to this thread just to check if there are any updates. Totally love japan and your pictures! I am totally jealous and hope to go there someday. That sunrise on Mt. Fuji is breathtaking and is probably my favorite one and I agree with you on waking up at 4am just to catch it as it is indeed worth it.

Thanks everyone! You're all too kind with your comments

Nyxs, thanks mate. I went to Kawaguchiko twice (Is where I took that sunrise photo). 1st one was just a day trip so I ended up taking daytime photo.
I swore I come back and spend a night to get a decent shot.

Here's more photos. An obligatory photo one should take when in Japan, the iconic Tokyo tower. This was taken at the 54th floor of Mori tower in Roponggi.

And I finally managed to go up the Observatory deck of Tokyo Sky tree. Since it opened to the public one year ago, it has received over a million visitors.

My first try at panning shot (Yeah.. yeah.. I know it's cr*p but I'm still happy how it turned out nonetheless)

And last photo, the Tokyo candle festival along Sumida river. They are actually not the normal candle. The lights are all LED that lights up when it gets contact with water. Pretty high tech huh.

Thank you CF and nemesisenforcer!

Thank you everyone for your visit to this modest thread. I finally left Japan last Saturday. It was a painful decision for me but there has been some major changes in my company (I'm working for Ericsson) that I felt are putting me to a lot of disadvantages.

I'll post some more of my early photos in Japan. Once I get to my next destination country, I'll create a new thread

Capsule Hotel. This is a MUST one you go to Japan.

Itsukushima Shrine. Torii gates are normally the entrance to a shrine or temple. This one, in Hiroshima stands over 50 feet in height.

Todai-ji temple, built around 700 A.D. is made of wood and is the largest wooden temple in the world.

Gion district in Kyoto. This narrow alley is lined up with shops where Geisha performs for selected guests.

I spotted a Maiko (training to become a Geisha) near the train station
