This is exactly why the single best advice I can give to collectors is to buy a quality portfolio, that is of course if your buying unframed prints. $50 - $100 a pop every now and again doesn't seem like much, but by the time you fill a single portfolio, you looking an $2400 - $4800 in print value.
I can't speak for others, but if I am going to spend $2400-$4800+ in prints, I am not comfortable storing them in cheap $50 portfolios. Even a $200-$300 portfolio is nothing when compared to the overall value of the prints contained within. If your serious about print collecting, Do yourself a favor and buy the best quality portfolio that you can.

Well this is the real question right now isn't it. With so many people voicing thier displeasure and unwillingness to buy prints with fake signatures, why has Sideshow taken the stance they have, thus refusing to change this aspect of the prints.
I did get a personal message from Igo, thanking me for all of the honest criticism I have given. He said he was doing everything in his power to "re-route the ship on a proper course". I don't know if he was just referring to Sideshow's wording and all of the confusion concerning this line or if he was taking about actually changing this line so they have real signatures. I did send a very long reply to Igo telling him flat out that its not to late for this line of prints. All they have to do is reverse their position on signatures and this line could be highly successful again and that its likely many of the people like myself that have sworn never to buy another print, would have no problem coming back if they started using real signatures.
I told him I would be more than willing to help him in regards to the equipment and methods required to ship prints out to get signatures. I keep hoping Sideshow will see the light and make the appropriate changes, but I a not holding my breath on this one. I do still have some hope that they will do the right thing, but only time will tell
One thing is for sure, they will sell a LOT more prints if they switch to signed prints. The fact that Sideshow had edition sizes in the 700 range that sold out really fast is a huge testament to how popular and successful this line could have been. Most comic prints have trouble selling more than 200-300 copies. Not even J. Scott Campbell was able to sell out his latest Fairy Tale line of prints with an ES of 200. They sold out incredibly fast with edition sizes of 50 and 100, but once he moved to 200....well, it was just too high of an ES for those prints. Most still have around 5o copies remaining. So agin the fact that Sideshow was selling out edition sizes in the 700 range in a timely manner, even though the print line was relatively new is a HUGE testament to the overall potential this print line had. Choosing to go with a machine automated signature was bad enough. Choosing to stick with a machine automated signature after everything that has happened is just downright insane. They are throwing away what could have been one of the most successful line of comic prints in the history of the entire market.
