Jim Lee DC 60 days of sketches

Wow Jim Lee has completed 7 sketches for sale on Ebay. Most of the characters have been B and C list so far. The winner of the sketch picks the next sketch. The sketches look great but are breaking crazy prices.

Crazy indeed - at this rate it will generate close to half a million dollars. I wonder if any of this is tax deductible as that is the only thing that explains the high bids. Being a fund raiser helps with bids but it still seems high and I can't see how it could sustain these rates for 60 sketches. We haven't even see Batman, Joker, etc. and I can't imagine where those will end if the early auctions are a good indicator.

He did a Big Barda!

Prices are insane, so happy for buyers and people this fund raiser helps.

I check every day to see what's next on the auction block. It's great work he is doing and I'm glad to see how much money it's raising. Wish I could afford to help out like that.

His Big Barda was AMAZING. I like Doctor Fate too.

I'm hoping somebody requests Starfire or vintage Catwoman.

I asked my husband this in hopes that he would buy me one as a gift If the auctioneer states the charity AND the charity provides the appropriate tax forms, it is a write-off.

(First world) problem on my end is that to make it worth the write-off for our household, we'd have to buy 24K in sketches.

That's only 3 or 4 sketches at this rate (or less when we start seeing the big guns) ... sounds like a plan to me!

I typed this thread on my phone. I guess its time for glasses, as I now realize I put it in the wrong category. I am hoping he does Hawkgirl.

Another discussion going on this topic makes me think there are no tax deductions here ...
