Here's a quite storm of a Barbarian book. I've read the 1st 2 issues of Dynamite Comic's
Queen Sonja and I've been pretty impressed. The 2nd issue just hit (11/25). Writer Josh Ortega has, in 2 issues, kicked off a pretty cool story arc involving Sonja returning w/ others to an enslaved kingdom, getting captured on purpose, all in order to fight from within.
I've been pretty hot and cold with Dynamite's Sonja, some of which has been outstanding (the Frank Cho written, mini was great).
This one stands out 'cause Mel Rubi's art is very good and the violence notch has really been turned up. Sonja is really shown to be a ruthless fighter in the 1st 2 issues, tearing out a man's throat w/ her bare hands in one panel.
You all know that I've been reading Barbarian comics for a long time (I started this thread) and I think this is worth a read. Came outta left field but I'm diggin' this one.
