Batman, I gave it a shot
So this is the first real sculpture I've ever done, I'm not sure what scale it is because I didn't put any planning into it. I was just dicking around with some clay and it evolved from just a head into what it is. I didn't even plan on doing Batman, I had been drinking a few beers the night I found the clay and the head kind of looked like a Batman mask should go on it... I like it but I'm not exactly happy with it because I didn't have an end goal, especially when I see the kind of thing that goes on here I see there is a ton of room for improvement. Not a bad start I guess though, and I'm going to learn a TON from you guys with what I've seen on here already.
Super Sculpey is the clay, and the paints I used were Warhammer 40k Citadel. I started it in 2009 and finished it early 2014. It spent more time in a drawer than it ever did being worked on, which is why it broke. It's a bit rough because of how stiff the clay became and I had gotten fed up with it and just said... it's as done as it's going to get, painted it, and gave it to a friend.

I did some light sculpting in highschool starting grade 11 (I'm 30 now) but the few things I did were very simple, this definitely stands out. So it's not literally my first, but you may notice with what I posted this sculpture went through multiple revisions over the years. Each time I pulled it out of the drawer I looked at it and wasn't happy so I changed it until it got to a point that it broke and I just reassembled and baked it and called it done.
I hope going into the next thing I plan it out first, but I can't draw for ---- so it's hard to plan the pose or proportions. I like this piece but it doesn't impress me, I strive for something much better next time, I need to capture more emotion I think. But thanks for the posts guys, I tip my hat to you.
