As I said before. I totally agree with this. It is frustrating that you can buy the extended, directors cut or unrated edition on DVD, but you can not on hi-def. However this still does`nt seem to stop people buying them.

Personelly I will not buy a movie that I already own on DVD that includes the extended edition that has been released on Blu-ray as the theatrical cut.

And here is another little tidbit, you have to pay them to check your game for final approval which is in the thousands of dollars range and they can still say no.
So I would guess that all PS2 games are released through Sony, thereby giving them the final say over the title, just like one of their movie titles.

Fox, Warner etc are not released through Sony, so how can they have a say in what is on the disc??

I think that PS2 games and movie releases don`t compare.

Do you believe that Microsoft are not giving out licences to other software companies who want to release software which is compatable with their operating system?

I remember a stink years ago when the PS2 first came out and Sony refused a game because it was 2d. They didn't want 2d games on the PS2, so it went bye, bye. They changed their minds later and some 2d games made it to the system, but the point is, they have total say in what content is put onto their machine.
I think the problem here is that the PS2 game industry and the movie industry don`t compare.

The PS2 game system is owned outright by Sony and is only produced by Sony. Blu-ray has many manufacturer's and is a multi media format.

Noseeb and I were talking about the Playstation. I'll be the first to admit I don't know much about how the movie side of things works.

Blaming Blu-ray (Sony) for what is released by studios is like blaming DVD for releases on that format.
