Platoon: 8/10, been years since I've seen this. Brutal, but excellent. War movies just aren't my usual thing.
Ex Machina: 9/10, such a smart film. One of those movies you like even more as time goes on and you think about it. Great movie.

Mandela - 10/10. Idris Elba made this role his own. What a powerful film.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I think Tarzan "is a see it yourself situation". It scored A/A- Cinemascores and positive audience reviews on RT but the professional critics seem to have it out for this one.
So weird as BFG is reviled by everyone who has seen it as boring and creepy but the critics loved it. Maybe this is just further proof that the critical community is out of touch with audiences.

Legend of Tarzan: 7.5/10
We just walked out and it was an extremely enjoyable night at the movies. They covered a lot of ground with a tight little narrative. I was also pleasantly surprised by the special effects and 3D which I typically hate.
