Switching to Trades...Question.

I'm about to take the plunge and drop monthly and just get what I want when the TPB come out.

Has anyone done this that could give me some advice on how they "moved" their old issues?

The LCS I use will probabbly ban me one I stop my pull, so I don't think they will take backstock in trade.

Any help?

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

I have mulled it over, you may want to look at an on-line service such as Discount Comic Book Service, they have great discounts and will ship monthly, you need to pay a few months in advance though.

I sorta gave up on Marvel with all the crap they been puting out (stick to only a few marvel/DC weeklys), so i just wait to see if the stories are good and then buy up the TPB. I hit this one seller on ebay for all my TPBs, hes got great prices and after ya spend $20 all shipping is free in the US.

So every few months i hit him up for a few trades.

eBay is probably your best bet, especially if you have full runs of recent books like Fables, Y: Last Man, Ultimate Spiderman, etc. Beyond that, you can move recent books on eBay, but you'll get pennies on the dollar. Still more than you'll get from most LCSs, which more likely than not will already have most of what you want to get rid of in backstock gathering dust.

But why would your current LCS ban you for losing your pull list? They might not give you the discount you may once have gotten, but if you're still buying trades from them, why would they want to lose that business too? If your LCS is like that, you should find a new LCS, because they don't deserve your business, man.

I agree with Teague. Unless its in demand you won't see a dime a book.

My advice, donate the books and take the tax write off.
