Best way to unroll Theatrical Movie Poster?

Hi all,

I'm after some advice for the best way to unroll a 27x40 One sheet movie poster.

Please let me know how you do or would do it...

thanks

Movie posters are easier to flatten than prints on heavy paper. Use the usual methods of posters between acid free boards.

Official movie posters are usually printed on much thinner stock than your average art print. They'll flatten pretty quickly. If you have acid free boards great, but if not I wouldn't worry about it much. Comic book boxes carefully stacked onto the poster or print are what I use to weigh them down. Depending on how much flattening is needed I've stacked up to 3 short boxes high across the surface of the print. Works like a charm.

so do you need a lot of downward pressure? And the only surface I have to lay the poster on is carpet, its really short carpet though.

I don't have a solution but I admire the problem.

You'll be fine. I layed mines on carpet and used books to flatten them back when i use to collect them.

I'd lay it on a flat/level surface if you can. A kitchen table is ideal. Putting weight on a poster/print with nothing more than carpet underneath it could cause waves in the print if the weight isn't evenly distributed.

I'd lay it out then try to weight it down with at least two blondes, but a blonde and a brunette will work just as well

Nice touch with the kitchen table too Scott . . . saucy
