How to take apart a statue?

I got an Aquaman Maquette off of ebay and the paint was all cracked to heck.

I want to repaint it, but want to take it apart first before I strip it.

He is glued to his base and has his trident hand glued in as well. What would I use to pull this thing apart.

Thought about a hammer, but figured that wouldnt be a great idea.

if its glue use a hair dryer and wiggle the joints down. heating it up enough and wiggling it can get them off.

Just be careful if its soft resin, could bent it if to hot

Stripping them of their paint first is easier, IMO. It reveals the seams thereby allowing for you to heat up the correct points.
