That's quite an excuse to skip the movie at the theatre, but I guess everyone has their own pet peeves and idiosyncrasies. So that's understandable.
He was announced as one of the central characters since last year and though not confirmed as Jedi, it was obvious he would be one.

Exactly, and that was the problem. I was hoping he wouldn't be a jedi, but more of an outlawish character like Solo. It wasn't obvious, though, so that's quite an extreme statement. But hey ho.

Besides Rey, Finn is the second lead of this new trilogy. And though Poe could be a Jedi, the focus was always on Finn being the male lead, so for me it was pretty much known that he was going to be a Jedi, it was just a matter of when.
And I think he doesn't actually become a Jedi until Episode VIII. He wields the lightsaber in this movie but the actual combat might be out of his league.
Also I think both Finn and Rey are poised to be a Jedi, while Poe is the wild card.

Any decent actor can disguise his accent. We haven't heard him or the girl speak yet so maybe not so distracting for you.

I wonder what they are going to lead the intro with. Won't be the Fox intro.

Some new Lucasfilm intro. Pixar has theirs with Luxo, Marvel has the flipping comic book page thing. Lucasfilm jus had the banner, so it will either be that or something updated.

It seems to be part of the fanfare from the rebel ceremony at the end of ANH.

They'll probably just make their own version, should fool the copywriters and still maintain the old feeling
