I'd love that too. Sadly, the innocence of that era is long gone. There's so much "personality" and "grit" in comics today, I'm amazed anyone gets along at all. We now live in an era where heroes judge one another as much as they do the villains, probably moreso. They certainly don't come off like they like each other anywhere near as much as they did during the 1960-80s.

I'm hoping Last Defenders will spin off into a regular Defenders title when the mini-series is done.

Agree 100%.
Can no one write stories like these anymore? I'd buy three copies of each--one for me, one for my girls, and one for my godson.

MTU and MTIO were the best!
Bringing these titles back would do a whole lot for the comic world, but they would need to be done right!
No bells...no whistles...no gimmicks...no crossovers...just good old fashioned entertainment!

Exactly. And no ongoing storylines (except for the odd two-issue here and there, perhaps). And it's got to have that sort of in-continuity but not overly tied into anything sort of sense that the old books had.
I tell you, the Spider-Girl creative team could knock this one out of the park.
