Cause I know I wouldn't like them. I was hardly even able to get through the first one. Just not into the whole fairy and elf thing. When it's put up against my favortie trilogy it's an easy vote. I realize the LotR movies have great cinematography/cgi and are considered by many as great films. They’re just not my baggins.

to be honest i got real tired of the porno style filming in lotr. shoot far away now up tight on that area then far away and up tight on that area now far away and up tight on that area. got to be very annoying

I'm surprised the vote is this close. If it were about the quality of the filmmaking or the storyline, I could understand it better (though I still think there are arguments to be made for SW even there...). But just flat-out favorite? Shocking!

I think if I was seeing them both for the first time, I would probably go with LOTR but given that I saw the SW original trilogy when I was a wee lad in the theater, it holds a "magical" spot as to how amazing it was so gotta go OT.
