i agree the first few episodes were rather slow but it has really pulled me in now. I am enjoying it and looking forward to the next season. Never read the books so not sure what was changed. I do know that anything changed from the books has people lose their marbles though. Far worse than the supposed "rabid star wars fans".
I loved the way the show started, but the second half of the season was kinda meh to me. The big Suaron reveal wasn't that exciting. I wish we saw more of Balrog. It was also disappointing that Morgoth was barely mentioned and then forgotten.
